About Me

Hi there! I'm Michelle Hinds.

Here's a little bit about me. I'm originally from Canada but have lived in Portland for the last 25 years where I raised 2 beautiful, happy and healthy children with my ex. We're all on very good terms and for this I feel truly blessed.

I'm a transgender woman, and at the time I sought electrolysis treatment of my own, I was a mostly retired physicist. I was in the process of separating from my spouse and realized that I would soon need income. I had such a wonderful experience with my first electrologist that I decided that Electrology would be my next career. And I absolutely love being an electrologist! Helping others feel better about their beautiful selves is very rewarding. And I'm deeply honored and find immense satisfaction when I'm able to assist my fellow sisters in the trans community as we pursue our goal of having our outward appearance more closely match how we feel inside.

As I mentioned, in the previous chapter of my life I was a physicist, although I think I'll always be a physicist at heart. I still dabble with an ongoing plasma physics project that is near and dear to my heart and I'm also in the process of filing some patents on ideas I have that I believe can improve electrolysis.

My solid understanding of electromagnetism (my area of research was space plasma physics) helps me be a better electrologist. I have an intimate understanding of what is actually happening, from a physics standpoint, at the tip of my probe when I'm treating follicles.

I have very strong feelings about the technique I use, which is the Blend method. There is no doubt in my mind that is it vastly superior to straight Thermolysis, which sadly too many electrologists choose to perform for its apparent speed in clearing an area. But I assure you, this speed increase is not real, as the regrowth rate is horrific with Thermolysis. As a transgender woman, I know a lot about Gender Reassignment surgical prep, both personally and through my clients and work in general. And I feel that it is absolutely unconscionable to use Thermolysis in the genital region for surgical prep. There's more about this in my FAQ section.

Thanks for reading and have a lovely day!
